TE 365 - Math Assessment & Instruction for PK-3 Develop mathematics-specific teaching practices that support all young children’s access to, engagement in, and success in thinking mathematically. This course will address strategic tasks of teaching mathematics for supporting young children’s thinking about attribution, counting, whole number and early fraction concepts through exploratory and play activities with applications in measuring and data analysis. Evaluate instructional resources, children’s literature, physical and digital tools for supporting all young children’s access to and success in mathematical learning. Engage in reflective practice for improving teaching practices. Fieldwork required (online, remote, and/or in-person). Co-requisite: TE 319 Field Practicum in PK-K or TE 329 Field Practicum in K-1
Requisites: Admission to Lower Elementary (PK-3) Education (Required, Previous). TE 319 or TE 329 (Required, Concurrent).
